What we do

Like all other branches of the Cats Protection across the country we do a wide range of things in order to protect and help cats.

  • Our most obvious and most frequent task is taking in cats or kittens from owners who can no longer care for them.
  • We also take in strays and attempt to reunite them with their original owners, if they cannot be traced they are re-homed. We operate a lost and found register.
  • We occasionally take in feral cats to be neutered and then released back into the wild. Some, and particularly semi-ferals, can be rehomed in stables, garden nursery type environments.
  • Any cats we take in which require medical treatment are treated by a vet at our expense so that the cats are fit and healthy when they are re-homed.
  • If you need help with the cost of neutering, we may be able to provide a voucher to your vets to help towards the expense. Please phone Angela on 01256 472555 for more information. If you are on benefits the RSPCA will also provide financial assistance.
